Why Become a Compassion Vet Pet?
1. We have been servicing the Poughkeepsie area for 26 years.
Our office is open 6 days a week with only major holidays closed. Staffed 7 days.
2. Our front office staff has been with us for an average of 18 years and are veterinary
medical consultants. We answer your questions personally! We have a well trained staff of
15 with licensed veterinary technicians and medically trained animal care assistants.
3.We offer a complete service from preventative care, boarding, grooming, retail and food,
to in-house advanced diagnostics and surgery, affording you immediate daytime
emergency care saving you hundreds to thousands of dollars over emergency and
specialty centers.
Dr. Schwartz is an accomplished and advanced surgeon and Dr. DeBitetto is a board
certified small animal specialist.
4. Our yearly preventative health exams include a complimentary six months healthy
recheck to insure your pet receives a full year of quality care.
5. Our boarding facilities are in the same airy and modern 6000sf building and separate
from our medical housing. Our cat boarding facility has southern exposure for sun and
consists of individual condos expandable to multiple rooms. We have Sunday pick-up.
Our animal care assistants are medically trained to care for your boarded pet quickly
recognizing any medical issue that may arise. We feed the highest quality prescription foods
to insure a quality stay and tailor your pet's stay with his needs. We offer large indoor
run-rooms and even have individual suites with a couch for your dog. All dogs are walked 3
times daily on our one acre lawn.
We even offer a complimentary free initial exam to your boarded pet should a medical
issue arise while at Compassion Vet.
We offer in-house grooming and puppy classes as well as behavior training by our resident
groomer-trainer Rich. Our groomings are medically supervised as our boardings and if an
issue arises we as well offer an initial consultation free of charge.
